I reference the Constitution a lot, because it governs what the federal government can and cannot do. This is also why reference the Constitution Classes on this website. It’s essential that you understand what rights are.

Rights are derived from property. As people like John Adams understood, the two are inseparable. However, rights also come with responsibilities and you can’t have one without the other.

The tenth amendment also restricts the federal government from doing anything not specifically assigned to it in the Constitution. So, go to Article 1, Section 8. Show me “drug war”. Sure, the federal government can tax marijuana that enters the states, but Article 1, Section 9 prohibits it from taxing the exports of any state.

If you want to smoke crack, you’re stupid. If you want to screw your life up, you own it. You and only you are responsible for it. If you are not responsible for your life, you have no rights and you don’t own it.

That’s what makes the only crime here the drug war itself.

Over 30 million Americans smoke pot everyday. The vast majority of them are hard working Americans who contribute to society. They have never lost a house, a job, a car or a relationship to pot. Where is their commercial? Why don’t they get a commercial?

Here is just one of their commercials. Meet Irvin Rosenfeld. He is a successful stock broker and federal medical marijuana recipient. He smokes over four joints every day. Marijuana has not only failed to ruin his life – it’s saved it. His biggest complaint is that the federal government doesn’t want to hear how well it works.
